The Langley Community Garden Project for area residents started April 2020, the Garden is located behind the Langley Public Library. The start of this project was because of these Sponsors Lakeside Garden Club, Friends of Langley Public Library, Mayes County Hope, Cherokee Nation, Family Community Church, and the Town of Langley. Because of the continued generosity of funding the Community Garden has continued to expand and become a part of the Children’s Programs at the Langley Library. Gardening cultivates valuable skills and knowledge in children, fostering responsibility, curiosity, patience, and a connection to nature, while also improving cognitive function and increasing their likelihood of consuming fruits and vegetables. Thank you for helping our children learn and grow!
The work has started for this years Community Garden we have added soil, hooked up the watering system and have planted many varieties of plants including tomatoes, cucumbers, bush beans, green and red sweet peppers, zucchini squash, primavera squash, lettuce, spinach and several herbs. Stop by anytime to check out the garden.
